RE: Complex Trading: Diluted s/out for preferred/convertibles?
Ok. I've viewed the complex trading comps on convertibles. From what I understand, if market value of equity (if converted) exceeds the face value (at maturity), they would convert, and vice versa. But I believe I've heard (I may be wrong) that convertibles may also have "price at conversion" ... Read More

Using References with Inequalities
I am trying to quickly count how many entries are between certain dates. At the moment, if I want to count everything in Q3 and Q4 2011, I use the formula =COUNTIFS($A:$A,"<=40908",$A:$A,">40724") I would like to refer to a cell rather than use the numeric date value. Ho... Read More

Modeling out working capital
Full Question:
For change in working capital, you use the change in operating expenses. Normally, and what I’ve been taught, is that you use current assets minus current liabilities. Can you explain to me why you would use the change in operating expenses?

Re: WACC : Historical Beta Values
Q1> When I am picking competitors to calculate average of beta values, what are the evaluation criteria one should keep in mind while picking competitors? Which ones to pick and which ones to not pick?
Q2> Why don't we include the target company itself in calculating the average beta value?

Complex Trading: Options schedule in K vs bloomberg
Hi, 1. I understand using bookvalue for debt as opposed to market value because they're very similar, but is this the same case for options? (I have never used a Bloomberg so I don't know whether bloomberg provides options schedule) Why do we use 10-K if we want the most up-to-date info? How ... Read More

I turned it off, and on, and in either case, the cells that auto fill a
percentage still do, and the one's that don't still don't. I've also got the
enable automatic percent entry and calculate tab radio button "automatic"
clicked. I'm wondering if maybe for some reason Excel doesn't see these
particular columns as "percent entry" and therefore isn't applying the
automatic option selection? Is that possible? It looks like this problem
applies only to columns with percentages in them. I formatted the whole
column with percent/2 decimals. (Format>Cell>) while whole column selected.
I like the idea of making a macro to standardize my format on new
spreadsheets. Will be trying that this weekend. Read More
