Cash Flow Projection / Capital Structure Change Modeling
which would be the best package for modeling out cash flow projections based on capital structure changes? After completing the advanced modeling module, I know I can just input new tranches of debt with assumed interest rates and flow that to come up with free cash flow projections...but wondering... which would be the best package for modeling out cash flow projections based on capital structure changes? LBO module or distressed investing for what I want to focus on. Does the distressed investing module focus on cash flows at all or just recoveries? I am hesitant about doing the LBO module only because I am not trying to take any companies private, but more on the credit side...investing in bonds and loaning corporates money based on projected financial performance. Negative Free Cash Flow in DCF
I am trying to do a 5 years DCF on an early stage tech company. It will have negative EBIT in next 2 years (also the FCF after the D&A, Capex, NWC adjustment) and becoming positive in 3rd year. So in caculating the Free Cash Flow from EBIT, does it still make send to still use the formula of EBI... I am trying to do a 5 years DCF on an early stage tech company. So in caculating the Free Cash Flow from EBIT, does it still make send to still use the formula of EBIT*(1-Tax Rate) to get the unlevered net income for the next 2 years because the company is not making profit hence not paying any tax in this 2 years?

I am thinking we should just use the EBIT plus the interest expense (if they have) tax shield, then do the D&A, etc adjustment. Is this right? Read More

I had a follow-up question to the auto row shading taught in the Advanced Excel for Data Analysis class - what would the formula be if I wanted every 3, (or 4 or 5) rows colored, rather than every other row?

The issue is that the data source is needed for an organisation. And given the volume of companies evaluated by the organisation, it is not possible to spend too much time on subjective estimation of debt ...
