Re: WORLDCOM (video 13:00 timeslot())
Actually it was $500MM of costs in that year - so if life is 10 years, that means they misclassified $5 BIL (assuming straight line) in total assets.
Worldcom actually ended up with over $8 BIL in total expenses misclassified => that implies $80 BIL of assets assuming 10 year straight line.

Re: Gain/Loss on Derivative for Oil & Gas Company
It shouldn't matter. Non-cash gains /losses are typically due to mark to market and go through OCI as they are likely classified as AFS securities and shouldn't change original analysis.

This, among other reasons, is why we commonly suggest using VMware Fusion or similar products to run Excel on Windows even when using a Mac computer. Highlighting the entire sheet as gray may be a temporary solution w... Read More

Re: TEV
Once again, TEV assumes appropriate level of working capital that does not required additional funds, i.e. a run-rate company and if you have working capital shortfalls, you may not be a going concern. If you have a (small) shortfall of working capital to sustain the day-to-day business, then ye... Read More

Re: TEV
For traditional definition of TEV please refer to our Corporate Valuation class: Equity Value (market value) + Total Debt (financial interest bearing negotiated securities) - Cash (should be excess cash but most people use total cash) + Preferred + Minority Interest (or NCI). For specific sub-... Read More
