GW impairment (and before, GW amortization) is NOT tax deductible. Hence you add it back in your tax calculation since it will increase your Taxable Income vs. GAAP Pre-Tax Income, which means, higher base => higher taxes you pay!

To right click, you can click on the right context menu button which usually is next to the right ALT key on a standard keyboard. It has a drop down menu with an arrow on it.
