In financial summary, cell F34, total debt = commercial paper+current portion of long-term debt +long-term debt.
However, in cell L32, total debt/total capitalization, total debt here = F34(total debt) +preferred stock +minority interest.
Why these two "total debt" are different though they have the same name?
Q2: If preferred stock (net) is negative, will it be considered debt? Should the negative number be added when we calculate total debt like the one in cell L32? In balance sheet, should preferred stock be listed as liability or shareholder's equity?
