Numerous companies (a mainstream notable is Valeant) make acquisitions part of the business model. What do you recommend is best practice to model/project a company that will likely derive a material amount of sales/earnings from lines of business that are not currently in the financial statements? Specifically, do you exclude both the impacts from future acquisition costs and benefits or do you include both based on historical (or analytically concluded) acquisitions? Thank you.
