(1) Copy the value in the “Closing Price” column to a separate column
(2) Sort the copied Closing Price in a descending order (Highest to the lowest)
(3) Use “MATCH” function to locate the Closing Price
(4) Use “OFFSET” function to identify the corresponding Trading Date
Then I notice that for example, if on trading dates 9/15/2017, 10/05/2015, and 8/10/2017, they all had the same closing price of $50.00, then my result would display the Closing Price $50.00 three consecutive times and each shows the “Same Location” and the “Same Trading Date, 8/10/2017”.
Questions: Is my approach correct?
=> If ‘Yes’, how shall I fix the problem?
=> If “No”, I shall appreciate it very much the smart way to accomplish my original objective, i.e. “To display the Closing Stock Price in a descending order with corresponding Trading Date next to each Closing Price in a defined time period”
Thank you very much in advance for your wisdom and advice.
